Strategy is a fuzzy term, and I read this to get some definitions, in particular wondering if UX / experience strategy really is a thing。 This book does an okay job at laying that out, the best chapter being a set of interviews of different strategists talking about how they understand and practice it。 The parts about how to do UX strategy retreads a lot of process (mostly Lean UX) that designers will be familiar with, and it doesn’t age well。

I expected that the book was deeper; it was very basic as it explained e。g。 the difference between qualitative and quantitative data and showed basic concepts like a business model canvas, etc。 If you never heard about such things or never really digged into business model creation and product validation processes, it does a decent job in explaining it。 While some of the concepts were new and I didn’t hear about, the majority was not, so I didn’t take away much from it。

Interesting book but not what I was expectingThis is an interesting book that, in my opinion, combines UX Design with marketing。The UX strategy is positioned as a separate domain or higher part of UX but the main idea is that as an UX Designer you need to understand the business and do your research。To summarize the book: as an UX Designer you have to have in mind both the business and the end user。

An excellent overview of a user experience strategies for a successful product creation。Skewed more towards starting a new product, it makes it more beneficial to startups (it’s quoting a lot of the blue ocean, lean startup and lean ux books)。 Loved the last chapter where the author published interviews on ux strategy with some strategies she was able to get to。

For a experienced professional, a lot of this is familiar as expected。 The true value is the structure Jamie provided, as only good professors seem to be capable of。 Taking the practical experience and turning into it a training circuit that new practitioners can upskill on。 good read for anyone in product development but is not a researcher。

Condensed insights from other books but nothing new If you have Blank and/or Ries most of what this book states is already familiar to you。 The book takes a more practical approach to these topics, but in new ideas and concepts it is lacking。 The basic premise of UX Strategy as a concept separate from Product or Customer Development does not hold up and is confusing to me。

Wasn't sure if I was going to learn much after the first chapter, as I've been reading a lot of UX books lately and thought this was just going to be a cursory overview of all the steps involved in design。 And it was an overview without getting into too much of the details。 But what I did learn was how to really think about the business aspect。 Other books told me how to go through the motions of the competitive analysis but this book actually tells you how to think about the competitors and wha Wasn't sure if I was going to learn much after the first chapter, as I've been reading a lot of UX books lately and thought this was just going to be a cursory overview of all the steps involved in design。 And it was an overview without getting into too much of the details。 But what I did learn was how to really think about the business aspect。 Other books told me how to go through the motions of the competitive analysis but this book actually tells you how to think about the competitors and what they really offer so that you can place yourself for maximum competitive advantage。 And it was a novel idea to me that you can check user traffic to competitors to see how many users they reach。 I also really liked the emphasis on quick and dirty prototyping, even if that means "Wizard of Ozing" it。 Being the man behind the curtain manually making things happen so that you don't need engineers to write a whole fancy backend for you prior to testing your value proposition。 This was an easy read; I finished it in a few days。 。。。more
